Financial Aid - Benedictine Military School - Savannah, GA

Financial Aid

A Benedictine education is a priceless investment in a child’s future. It is our goal that no student be denied the opportunity of attending Benedictine because of financial need. For the 2011-12 school year, Benedictine students received approximately $640,000 in need-based financial aid. However, each year, the requests for financial assistance exceed the funding available. Therefore, it is necessary to establish policies and procedures for distributing financial aid to ensure consistency and fairness.

Purpose of Financial Aid

·         To permit the development of a richly diverse student population by making Benedictine accessible to students from varying economic backgrounds.
·         To allow for the continued enrollment of students whose families have experienced economic reversals arising from such events as death in the family, sudden medical issues or unemployment.

Types of Financial Aid

Benedictine offers need-based financial aid, as well as academic scholarships. Different types of financial aid are listed below.
·         General Financial Aid – Available to all students based on demonstrated financial need.
·         GOAL Scholarship – Available to public school applicants based on demonstrated financial need.

Applying for Financial Aid

Benedictine Military School appoints an anonymous Financial Aid Committee to evaluate each family’s application and determine the amount of the award. This confidential process takes into account each family’s financial situation. An applicant must complete the admissions process and be accepted to Benedictine before his financial aid application is reviewed. Admissions decisions are made independent of a family’s ability to pay the full cost of education.
