BC 2010 Alum Ryan Salmon to Swim with Georgia Tech - Benedictine Military School - Savannah, GA

BC 2010 Alum Ryan Salmon to Swim with Georgia Tech

With a name like Salmon, swimming should come naturally. Ryan Salmon, a swimmer on Benedictine Military School’s (BC) 2010 Swim Team, has signed a letter of intent with Georgia Tech.   Salmon is Benedictine’s eighth Class of 2010 athlete that has agreed to compete on the collegiate level.

Ryan Salmon, a bronze medalist at this year’s Georgia High School Association State Swimming & Diving Meet, has agreed to attend Georgia Tech this fall and compete on the Yellow Jacket’s Swimming & Diving Team. A recent Benedictine  graduate, Salmon’s other 2010 swimming honors included being named this year to the Georgia High School Swimming Coaches’ Association All State Boys Second Team.

The signing makes Salmon the second Benedictine swimmer in two years to move on to the college level. Peter Benner, an All American, in 2008 signed with the University of Georgia. In addition, Salmon is the eighth BC Class of 2010 athlete that will compete at the collegiate level this fall.

This year, Salmon also finished as a state runner-up, placing second statewide in the boys 100 yard breaststroke and third in the boys’ 200 yard IM (individual medley).  BC finished 10th in the state competing against teams such as Westminster of Atlanta.
