COLLEGE CHECKLIST FOR SENIORS

______ Create an account on www.gacollege411.org.
               Use this website to do research on careers, college majors, and colleges.
______ Create your resume. 
              You can use the resume builder tab on GAcollege411.org.
______ Register for and take SAT / ACT
______  College Applications for Early Action or regular decision—you decide.
                Check application deadlines on the college websites.
______ Counselor evaluation forms or secondary school reports  
               Complete your portion of this form and print out a hard copy of it to give to
               your counselor. Attach a note with the name and address of the college
               and the deadline date. Give your counselor 2 weeks to complete this
               process.
______  Essays 
               Check to see if you need to write an essay as part of your college
               application. Save any essays you write; you may be able to use them again.
______ Letters of recommendation 
              Check to see if you need letters of recommendation. Give
               teacher/counselor 2 weeks turn-around time & provide them with a copy of
               your resume.
______ Transcripts 
               Send official transcripts to colleges. Request forms available in the
               guidance office, to be turned into Mrs. Ansley
______ HOPE Scholarship application
              
Go to your GAcollege411.org account to complete this.
______ FAFSA (federal financial aid application) 
              Complete this after parent income tax returns are done--late January of your
              senior year.
______ Financial aid and Scholarship
______  Housing applications are completed as soon as you’re accepted to a
                college and let them know that you’re going to attend. Apply right away
                because housing is assigned on a first come--first served basis.
______ College course registration usually takes place when you attend the
               orientation session prior to your first semester of college.
