MR. JIM MYRICK '99

WHAT IS YOUR BEST MEMORY OF BC?
"It's a toss-up between Commissioning and Ring Day as my best memory from my time as a student at Benedictine. The pride I felt during both events was incredible and truly helped cement the spirit of brotherhood. These moments weren't just milestones, they were powerful experiences that bonded us as a class. To this day, I'm proud to call those same brothers fellow alumni."

HOW DID BC PREPARE YOU FOR YOUR FUTURE?
"Benedictine prepares you not just for higher education but for life. The emphasis on accountability instills a strong sense of responsibility, shaping how we approach our future decisions and challenges. It teaches us the discipline, integrity, and commitment it takes to be successful not just in school, but in all aspects of life."

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO GIVE TO THE BENEDICTINE FUND?
"Donating to the Benedictine Fund is a meaningful way for us as alumni to invest in the future of the school and ensure that the next generation of Cadets has the same opportunities we were given. Giving back is more than a gesture, it's a way to say 'thank you' to the place that helped shape me into the man I am today."

WHAT SETS BC APART FROM THE OTHER SCHOOLS IN SAVANNAH?
"Benedictine prepares students for life beyond higher education. The life experiences and discipline taught during high school are crucial for future success. Developing good habits at a young age fosters productivity in the future. The school's military influence and strong discipline instill responsibility and integrity, shaping individuals into not only good students but also responsible citizens."

MR. AIDAN COLEMAN '19

WHAT IS YOUR BEST MEMORY OF BC?
"My favorite memory at BC was Ring Day. Once you’ve been given your class ring, you feel as though you’ve truly made it into that brotherhood of Cadets, the same brotherhood you grew up aspiring to be part of. Ring Day was especially meaningful to me, as I am the third generation in my family to wear the ring. Once you put it on, you become easily recognizable to other BC alumni, both in town and across the country. That sense of connection and respect is something you carry with you long after graduation."

HOW DID BC PREPARE YOU FOR YOUR FUTURE?
"During my time at Benedictine, I was fortunate to learn under exceptional teachers who modeled not only academic excellence but embodied BC’s core values. Coach Peter Newman used to say, 'Everything matters.' And that mindset has followed me through my college and work career. Whether leading a team or working independently, I strive to give my full effort and inspire those around me to do the same. Benedictine shaped me into the man I am today by instilling values of leadership, discipline, and accountability."

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO GIVE TO THE BENEDICTINE FUND?
"In everything you do in life, it is important to give back. BC has had such an incredible impact on who I am today that I feel I owe it to the school to pay it forward and be a part of its growth and its future. I've often heard the expression, "if not you, then who?" It is important for all of us to do our part so future generations can have the same opportunity to walk those halls and share in the BC Brotherhood."

WHAT SETS BC APART FROM THE OTHER SCHOOLS IN SAVANNAH?
"Benedictine is more than just a school, it's a deeply rooted community. The strength and commitment of its alumni network are truly remarkable, and the ongoing involvement of graduates speaks volumes about the school’s lasting impact. That sense of lifelong brotherhood is unique. When someone finds out you’re a BC alumnus, there’s an instant bond, as if you’ve known each other for years. That enduring connection is what truly sets Benedictine apart."
