  • Four Cadets Players of the Year

    The Coastal Empire High School Sports Awards Banquet, hosted by The Savannah Morning News and the Georgia Ports, is a prestigious annual event honoring the top high school athletes and coaches across the area. This celebration recognizes first-team selections in the various sports, highlighting the skill, dedication, and achievements of the student-athletes throughout the Coastal Empire. During the event, the highly anticipated Players of the Year are recognized.  Four Cadets received this honor.
    Defensive Football Player of the Year: Herbert "Third" Scroggins
    Scroggins, who enrolled early at the University of Miami, had a banner season. The star edge was the Region 1 AAAA Defensive POY and was an All State Class AAAA 1st Team honoree. He had 86 tackles and 21 sacks, the most in the state.
    Boys' Basketball: Caleb Jones
    This year, Jones averaged 31.7 points and 7.2 rebounds and was the Region 1AAAA POY. The senior closed out his career with 2288 points and led the cadets to the Sweet 16 after trips to the Final Four the past two seasons. He was 2nd Team All Georgia and 1st Team Class AAAA.  He had 17 games with at least 30 points and scored a career high 57 in a win over Patriot and 49 in a win with New Hampstead.
    Boys' Golf: Bear Dollander
    The sophomore won the individual Class AAAA State Championship. He won medalist honors in four tournaments this spring leading the Cadets to the Region title. The sophomore is receiving much D1 college interest.
    Boys' Lacrosse: Wyatt Estabrook
    The three sport athlete had an impressive lacrosse season for the Cadets, who won the Area 4 Division 2 Championship. Estabrook was a key player as a midfielder for a team that advanced to the state quarterfinals. He had 25 goals, 33 assists and picked up 40 ground balls.

  • Winter sports student-athletes recognized by SMN

    The Coastal Empire High School Sports Awards Banquet, hosted by The Savannah Morning News and the Georgia Ports, is a prestigious event that honors top high school student-athletes. This banquet recognizes first-team selections across a variety of sports. Sponsored by Chatham Orthopedic Associates, the event on May 27 at the Johnny Mercer Theatre will announce the choice of the Players of the Year, celebrating the most outstanding athletes of the year in their sports. The banquet serves as an important occasion to acknowledge the students' hard work, dedication, and athletic achievements across the Coastal Empire region. For swimming, senior Ethan Dibkey shared First-team recognition with five other Savannah area swimmers. First-team honors in wrestling were bestowed on Zachary Krauss and AJ West. Connor Desautels was selected for the Second Team. Honorable Mention were Peter Fallon, Aaron Pritzker, and Aiden Simmons. Caleb Jones, basketball extraordinaire, was selected First-team.  Micah Williams was Honorable Mention. Congratulations to these outstanding athletes! Go Cadets!

  • Swim team finishes as Region 1-AAAA Runner-up

    Congratulations to Benedictine Military School’s swimming team on their outstanding second-place finish at the region meet in Warner Robins! Team captain Ethan Dibkey shined with impressive first-place finishes in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke. The relay teams also performed exceptionally well, with the 200 Medley Relay team of Meyer Hagin, Ethan Dibkey, Robert Federal, and Byron Pederson securing second place, and the 200m Freestyle Relay team of Hobie Leonard, Ethan Dibkey, Meyer Hagin, and Byron Pederson also placing second. Well done to all the swimmers for their dedication and teamwork in bringing home the second-place region trophy!
  • Winter sports commenced

    With the conclusion of many fall sports, the winter sports are in action. The Savannah Morning News selected the top area basketball player to watch. Senior "Player of the Year" Caleb Jones and sophomore Ejay Washington were high on the list! The opening game for the Cadets is at 8 p.m. Nov. 30 against Groves in the Enmarket Arena Tournament. The wrestling team had an outstanding day in its opening home dual match with big wins over Windsor Forest, 71-12, Savannah Christian, 73-6, and Jenkins, 58-24. BC travels to Effingham County High School on Saturday for the Blue Line Duals at 9 a.m.. BC's swim team is practicing getting ready for its competition. It's going to be a great season!
