JROTC Cadets can compete to earn a coveted slot to attend a week-long JROTC Leadership Camp, normally conducted in the month of June. This camp provides the Cadet an opportunity to practice leadership skills in an unfamiliar environment. Cadets are allowed a chance to participate in citizenship-building exercises and have the opportunity to experience living and interacting with their peers from other schools in a military setting. Cadets receive instruction in military type skills in a "hands on" military environment (First Aid-Litter Carry, Rappelling, Land Navigation, Rope Bridge Construction and Drown-Proofing). Additionally, the camp provides the opportunity to participate in Adventure Training not normally available to Cadets. The camp also takes advantage of recreational facilities available at military installations.
