Community Service
The Community Service Program of Benedictine Military School began in 1982 and has received strong support from participating organizations, parents, and former students. In fact, some former students have even begun to pursue careers in the areas of their community service involvement.
Because of this strong endorsement and the benefits of the program, the school administration and faculty determined that participation in the Community Service Program be a mandatory requirement for graduation from Benedictine Military School. Failure to participate in the program will result in withholding your diploma and no forwarding of final transcripts to colleges.
All BC graduates are required to complete 70 hours of participation. The 70 hours must be completed by April 28 of the senior year according to a schedule worked out between the senior and the project supervisor. While intended as a senior program, Cadets may begin volunteering within the program earlier with special arrangements.
Successful completion of the program will be determined in consultation with the professional supervisor of each project. Determining factors of the evaluation will be the participant’s promptness, neatness and appearance, attitude, interest, and cooperation.
