October 20- 25, 2025is National Estate Planning Awareness Week
We all understand the importance of planning. It gives us the ability and opportunity to provide for our loved ones as well as the causes we care about, like Benedictine Military School. By taking the time to carefully plan what to do with our assets, we can pass along the values that have guided us throughout our lifetime.
Mr. Rhett Zeigler, J.D., is a graduate of the Benedictine Military School Class of 1994 and the Executive Vice President & Chief Trust Officer at Magnolia Trust Company. He has graciously agreed to write about estate planning, which is important to Benedictine Military School. BC’s 1902 Heritage Society recognizes individuals and families who have included Benedictine in their estate plans or have named Benedictine as the beneficiary of a charitable gift arrangement.
Mr. Bob Blakewood, Benedictine Military School Class of 1954, and his wife of 62 years, Carolyn, recently made the ultimate legacy gift. They are two of the newest members of the 1902 Heritage Society, which recognizes those who have remembered the school in their will or estate plans.
Christmas gifts have been opened and a new year is upon us, but there is one more gift that you can give – to protect your family and your legacy – and that gift is making a will for your family.
Josh Mallard graduated from Benedictine in 1997. He attended the University of Georgia on a football scholarship and was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the 2002 NFL Draft.
