Benedictine Military School’s 2nd Annual Athletics Day of Giving is Nov. 18 and provides our BC community with an opportunity to directly support the BC sports team of their choice. Each team has specific goals and needs, and every gift – of any size – helps to strengthen our Cadets’ experience.
Last year, the BC community raised $68,889 in one day.
“Benedictine has always taken great pride in athletics,” Benedictine Director of Athletics Jack Holland ’03 said. “Not only does it provide our students with the opportunity to compete and represent BC, it’s also a tremendous platform for learning, teamwork, and life lessons that will serve our young men well.
“So many Cadets from years gone by have paved the way for the success we are experiencing today,” Holland continued. “As we look to build on that success, the support from our alumni, families, and fans is integral in making the experience for our current Cadets the best it can possibly be.”
Teams need funds for a variety of things: gas, meals, and lodging for road games; equipment; uniforms; the list is endless.
Benedictine Director of Annual Giving and Constituent Engagement Dustin White ’14, who also is the Cadets’ lacrosse head coach, said the funding allows BC to provide student-athletes with experiences they will not get at other schools throughout the area.
“Our goal as coaches is to offer our players a one-of-a-kind unique experience which allows us to develop young men that are competitive, committed, and display the characteristics that Benedictine teaches,” White said. “Our fundraising matters. Our goal isn’t to simply raise more money. It is to continue to use that support to give our players opportunities and experiences that distinguish us from any other program in the area.
“We don’t expect everyone to be able to contribute the same way, but all contributions are valuable,” White continued. “It truly takes all of us to provide the first-class experience we want for our players. The players understand that they are a part of something greater than themselves. The way they represent Benedictine on and off the field is something we should all be proud of.”
The BC community is invited and encouraged to join us Nov. 18 as we come together to fuel teamwork, leadership, and tradition across all BC sports.
“The Benedictine community once again rose to the occasion last year during or first BC Athletics Giving Day,” Holland said. “Your support this year will go a long way in helping every single sport on campus compete at the highest level.”
