REGION 1-AAAA CHAMPS!! Congratulations to Benedictine Military School on winning the GHSA Region 1-AAAA Boys Tennis Championship! In the thrilling final match, the No. 2 doubles team of Chris Cordasco and Marcos Simón clinched the win in a third-set tiebreaker. Securing the No. 1 seed in the upcoming GHSA Class AAAA playoffs is a big accomplishment. Best of luck to the Cadets as they continue their journey in the playoffs!
The Cadets defeated Druid Hills 4-0 in the first round of the GHSA Class AAAA playoffs. They will host East Forsyth on April 28 at the Bacon Park Tennis Complex at 2:00 PM.
In the match against Druid Hills, BC’s winners were: singles Lachlan McIntosh 6-0, 6-0; Henry Montavon 6-3, 7-5 and doubles: Walker Sheffield/Matt Tift 7–6 (7-5T), 6-4; Marcos Simón/Christopher Cordasco 6-0, 6-4. Cadet Liam Hegarty’s match was pulled due to BC’s overall win. His score was 6-2 for the first set and he was winning, 3-2, when the match was declared.
