FALL SPORTS
Overall Football Player of the Year - Presented by Savannah Coca-Cola

Stephen Cannon, Benedictine
Cannon was named the Region 1-4A Offensive Player of the Year and earned All-State honors from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He threw for 2,266 yards with 26 touchdowns and just four interceptions and ran for 625 yards and nine more scores.
He was on the top of his game in the playoffs as he helped lead the Cadets to the Class 4A title game, where they lost a memorable battle in a 42-39 setback to Creekside. He threw for 775 yards and six scores and ran for 270 yards and five touchdowns in five playoff games.
Cannon, who was also a star sprinter on the BC track team and a standout basketball player, enrolled early on a football scholarship with Texas Tech.

Football Defensive Player of the Year - Presented by Savannah Coca-Cola
Kam Cody, Benedictine
Cody was named the Region 1-4A Defensive Player of the Year. He had 82 tackles, with 13 for losses and 5.5 sacks. He was an AJC All-State first-team pick. Cody recovered from a heart incident that nearly cost him his life during his freshman year to return to the team and realize his dream of playing college football. Known for his toughness and leadership on the field, Cody signed to play at Clemson, where he enrolled early after helping lead the Cadets to the Class 4A state title game.

SPRING SPORTS
Baseball
Omari Burse, Benedictine
The junior put his team on his back in a deciding Game 3 in the state quarterfinals with Cambridge as BC trailed 8-1. He came in to pitch and earned the win with six strong innings of relief, while going 3 for 5 with a pair of homers and five RBIs to highlight a 10-9 win. On the season, he hit .482 with 18 doubles, nine homers, 61 runs, 49 RBIs, and 20 stolen bases. He has committed to play at Alabama-Birmingham.

Boys Golf
Bear Dollander, Benedictine
The junior earned All-Greater Savannah Golfer of the Year honors for the second year in a row.
Dollander won four individual tournament titles and also had a second, third, and fifth-place finish. He won the Class 1-4A area title and finished fourth in the Class 4A state tournament. Dollander has committed to play at the University of Alabama.

Lacrosse
Joe Joe Mahfet, Benedictine
Mahfet was a defensive anchor for Benedictine, which was the top team in the Greater Savannah area again. The senior helped lead the Cadets to a region title as he caused 22 turnovers and had 54 ground balls on the season. The Cadets went 13-5 and allowed just six goals per game. He was an All-Region first-team selection.
