  Cadets Take Top Honors at GIAA State Qualifier

  It was a long, grinding Saturday at Forest City Gun Club, but when the final targets were broken and the scores were tallied, only one team stood at the top. Benedictine Military School’s Sport Shooting team fired an impressive 897/1000 team HOA to capture TOP HONORS at the GIAA State Qualifier, holding off a determined Savannah Christian squad and 12 other regional teams to take the win!

  GIAA competition demands excellence across Trap, Skeet, and Sporting Clays, with each school’s top five HOA shooters determining the team score. There’s nowhere to hide — every target matters, and consistency is everything.
   Senior Captain Lucas McKenzie led the charge with a stellar 183/200.

      Sophomore Jacob Butler — 182/200
      Junior Matthew Boyer — 180/200
      Senior Captain Chaz Palmer — 176/200
      Sophomore Chip Klein — 176/200
  

  Those five shooters combined for the 897/1000 championship score.

  But championships aren’t won on five shooters alone — they’re won with depth, and the Cadets have quietly built plenty of it. Freshman Caleb Vo fired a 175/200, while Senior Owen Washburn and Junior Grady McKenzie each posted 172/200.

  All three finished just outside Benedictine’s scoring five. And incredibly, each of those scores would have cracked the Top 5 at every other school in the field.

  That’s not just a good team. That’s DEPTH.

  From veteran leadership at the top to talented young shooters coming up fast, the Cadets are building a program that can compete today — and for years to come.

  The Cadets will take on 2–3 more GIAA State Qualifiers before the season reaches its grand finale at the GIAA State Championship in late October.

  The targets are waiting. The competition is coming. The Cadets are locked, loaded, and ready.

  Cadets Celebrate with Forest City Juniors 7th National Title

  The Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) National Championship is the nation's premier youth clay target event, featuring thousands of athletes from across the country. With six consecutive National Championships already to its name, the Forest City Juniors Sport Shooting Team arrived in Marengo, Ohio, carrying the weight of history and the expectations of defending another title. Every target mattered, every shot counted, and the pressure never let up. After an intense 2200-target competition, the Forest City team rose to the occasion once again, capturing an unprecedented seventh consecutive National Championship by the slimmest of margins—just one target.

  Powered by the talent, discipline, and determination of its Cadet members, the team refused to back down when it mattered most. Their composure under pressure and unwavering focus secured another championship trophy, adding yet another remarkable chapter to Forest City's and the Cadets' legacy of excellence in sport shooting.
