  • Cross Country Tests State Course

The Cross Country team delivered standout performances this weekend at the OrthoWest Invitational, held on what is considered the most challenging course they’ll face all season — the same demanding terrain that will host the GHSA State Meet on November 7th in Carrollton. For South Georgia teams, testing themselves on the hilly North Georgia course is crucial, and our athletes rose to the challenge.
Competing against 39 teams and 336 runners, the team showed just how far they’ve come. Cole Minnich led the way with a stellar 13th-place finish, clocking 16:28.01 — a time faster than his performance at last year’s State Meet and a strong statement against some of the best runners in Georgia.
Also surpassing their State Meet times from last season were Asher Herrin, Will Hoffman, and Tucker Hollis, each displaying impressive early-season form and setting the tone for what’s to come.
A standout performance came from Ben Harvey, who set a new personal record of 18:30, while Wyatt Nolen and Pete Rosario smashed their previous bests — each improving by nearly a full minute. Ved Patel and Fischer Valbuena matched their PRs, showing consistency, focus, and grit.
With results like these, the team is building serious momentum. The progress is evident, and the potential is sky-high as the season continues.
  • Cross Country Looking to Great Season

The Cadets made a powerful statement to open the 2025 cross country season, placing five runners in the top 25 and narrowly missing out on a team title at the Frazier-Hite Invitational. Competing against a field of over 358 runners and 26 teams, BC finished second overall with 55 points—just one point behind 5A powerhouse Greenbrier, who took the win with 54.
Leading the charge for Benedictine was Cole Minnich, who claimed second place with an impressive time of 16:54.59. Close behind was Asher Herrin in fourth (17:49.70), followed by strong performances from Tucker Hollis (11th, 18:26.02), William Hoffman (14th, 18:38.21), and Ben Harvey (24th, 19:15.60).

  • GHSA AAAA STATE

The State meet in Carrollton, GA has always been tough. The Cadets learned on Saturday that it was tougher this year. Why? Less teams competed at State because of the implementation of a Sectional Qualifiers. In addition, the reclassification by GHSA made AAAA even tougher with numerous schools dropping down from higher classifications the year. But the Cadets battled and performed well. Cadets accomplished their goal to be in The Top 10 by placing 9th out of 24 teams competing in the Boys GHSA AAAA 5K. Cadets were led by senior John Dodson. Dodson placed 14th overall with a time of 16:58.15. Go Cadets!
