4 Days for THE 400 - Alumni

4 Days for THE 400 Alumni Challenge: May 4-7

The Power of Participation Starts With YOU!
ALUMNI GOAL = 450 or more BC Alumni donors in just 4 days!

The Benedictine Fund is our top priority, and we really need alumni support to help us reach our goal of $1 million. The Benedictine Fund supports the operating budget and every Cadet, teacher, and program at BC. It provides the flexibility to respond to changing circumstances and to take advantage of new opportunities. It helps to bridge the gap between the actual cost of educating a student and the tuition. Every gift truly counts - no matter the size. Thanks to the generosity of the BC community, the annual fund can support a wide range of needs across the school.

Frequently Asked Questions

List of 5 items.

  • Why is the Benedictine Fund so important?

The Benedictine Fund is the school's second-largest revenue source after tuition, accounting for approximately 8.3 percent of BC’s operating budget. Annual giving is the lifeblood of any private school and is the catalyst to our success. It is the financial support from parents, alumni, and friends that keeps the institution strong. Our Cadets are the most direct and immediate beneficiaries of all Benedictine Fund gifts.
  • Why did BC start the 4 Days Alumni Giving Challenge?

During the fiscal year 2020-21, BC decided to launch an alumni giving campaign to help promote alumni giving over just five days (four days this year). We have such a loyal group of alumni, and we hope you will please consider a gift at any level this week to help us reach 100 percent participation by May 7, 2026! Thank you in advance for your generosity and thank you for believing in our top priority, our Cadets!
  • Why is alumni participation so important?

When alumni give, it sends a powerful message of support for our mission, our faculty, parents, and, most importantly, our Cadets.

  • What are my giving options?

ONLINE: You can make an online gift on this page.

RECURRING: You can choose the recurring payment option which allows you to spread payments over multiple installments throughout the fiscal year. June 30 is the end of our fiscal year period and all pledges must be paid in full at that time. To set up a recurring gift during the 4 Days for THE 400, please contact Lisa Tramell at (912) 644-6538 or lisa.tramell@bcsav.net

CHECK OR CASH: You can always mail or drop off your gift to BC at 6502 Seawright Dr. Savannah, GA 31406.

  • How much should I contribute?

Every gift, of any size, is meaningful, impactful, and very much appreciated. We ask you to consider giving as generously as you are able, but whatever the amount, it is your participation that BC values most. By making your gift on or before June 30, you are helping BC stay faithful to its mission, while continuing to shape tomorrow's leaders.

Who will earn "CLASS OF THE DECADE" and "CLASS OF THE YEAR"?

CLASS OF THE DECADE: A brand-new competition this year.
We will still have the Class of the Year competition, but to motivate all the other classes, the Class of the Decade will be awarded to one class in each decade who received the most points. It will be the same point system as Class of the Year: Calculated into three categories, Number of Donors, Percentage of Donors, and Total Dollars Raised. Another way to think about this is Class of the Decade is like your conference championships and Class of the Year is the National Championship. And, of course, it comes with all the bragging rights.
  • Decades will go from 0 – 9. For example, the '80s Class of the Decade will only be from Classes of 1980-89, the '90s Class of the Decade will be from 1990-99 and so on.

The "Class of the Year" award will be presented at the annual Alumni Dinner in August. The winner of the "Class of the Year" will be determined through a points system which takes into account three categories exclusive to the Benedictine Annual Fund:

1. Number of donors
2. Percent participation
3. Amount contributed

At the close of the fiscal year on June 30, the top 10 classes in each of the three categories will receive points. #1 in each category will receive 10 points, #2 will receive 9 points, #3 will receive 8 points. The total number of cumulative points will be totaled for each class and the winner will be crowned.

The "Class of the Year" will receive special recognition at dinner, as well as the monthly e-blast, website, social media, and the fall magazine. The winning class will also have its class inscribed on the "Class of the Year" plaque which hangs in Alumni Hall. Good luck and remember- every dollar you donate helps our Cadets!

4 Days for THE 400 Alumni Campaign Co-Chairs Mr. Tom Hussey '75 and Mr. Sean Spellman '12

Mr. Tom Hussey '75, 4 Days for THE 400 Alumni Campaign Co-Chair
“I’m asking all alumni to donate to the Benedictine Fund. There are many reasons we should, but there are two I will highlight. The cost of a Benedictine education is significantly greater than tuition. Without our support (and other vital programs) many Cadets would not be able to afford to attend. Secondly, I feel we should embrace the value of ‘paying it forward’ to the Cadets of the future. Most of us have enjoyed lives that have been favorably shaped by our four years at the school. Let’s help provide that same opportunity we have been given by those before us.”

Mr. Sean Spellman '12, 4 Days for THE 400 Alumni Campaign Co-Chair
"Giving to BC through the Benedictine Fund is such a meaningful way to help the school and one way that I am proud to help each year. We have so many good opportunities to donate to the school for specific campaigns, sports teams, etc., but this fund is a real driver to ensure that the school can operate and grow. As I mentioned above, BC had a profoundly positive impact on who I am today, and I know that donations to the fund allow future alumni to continue to echo that sentiment."
